today's ride was another great G2 ride... I mean, what I saw of it. your humble author slept in until about 10 minutes before the ride was to leave from commercial and A1A. when I caught the ride they were on the return leg from lake worth. the group seemed to be in good spirits having survived (willy most successfully) the larger-than-normal Mike's Ride®. In what was a very pleasant surprise, coming along with the regulars today were two new riders that willy informed me were also new members!
Norm Major and Morris Carstarphen are two of three new members that we would like to welcome to G2. they are strong riders and the first time you see them they will probably be flashing by on a sprint to atlantic blvd. in Delray. the third member, Helena Redshaw, I have not yet had the pleasure to meet but we are glad to have on board. please take the time and initiative to introduce yourselves to the new folks and make them welcome.
something to consider - and stemming very directly from today's news (and my own experience) - is that there are a good many unattached riders out there who are only an invitation away from enriching our club with their membership. it was only a couple weeks ago that willy did this for me and I have enjoyed very much being a part of the club. if you talk to people on rides who would make good members, you should issue them an invitation and direct them to the website. three good people joined our ranks today for this very reason. while no one necessarily wants to be One Thousand Strong™, inviting others to join our group of... mmm... varied personalities helps the club grow and makes the rides even more fun.
