knackered

as the brits would say. meaning right tired.

in fact, I surprised that I'm not falling asleep at the computer trying to describe the day's ride. in a nutshell, it was a great day out for G2 riders. the first part of the day had us well-represented and stepping quite firmly on the gas pedal during Mike's Ride®. special recognition goes to mike and willy for being in on the sprint to the spanish river light with willy nipping The Pro™ (graham potter) at the line. I believe cesar was somewhere behind making a lot of disruptive comments, pushing people around and creating diversions. all kidding aside, though, the group rode exceptionally strong and, personally speaking, it is an honor to ride with the good people of G2. thanks to everyone for getting out and making our presence known. after the customary regrouping at spanish river, the ride continued north; smiles and jokes accompanied an effortlessly high pace and all was well with the world...

of course, citing newton, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction... which is to say, the bright, shiny, feel-good wind that was at our backs up to lake worth turned rather ugly for the return trip. while there was much made of the desire to "take it easy" and just "spin home", G2 is a competitive and ambitious lot and soon the pace rose and conversation stopped. thus it went until an extra long stop at the camino real bridge. there was something of a half-hearted drag race to the fountain, but by then reason began to reassert itself and the pace home was brisk, but tempered.

kudos again to everyone who made it out and who made it a good day of riding - wind or no. the sunday ride shoves off at it's regular time barring rain... and perhaps at an ever-so-slightly less painful clip.

  1. I whish I could outsprint Grand Potter but I did out sprint Greg Cousin (I think his name is) a Cat 2 one of the strongest riders out there. Still not bad considering he had a breakaway with another rider and I caught him at the end.
Eric thanks for putting out this weekend ride report.

  3. Well, good for you guys! I came back from Reno with a cold and rode just a mellow pace Saturday and felt like a dead woman all afternoon - sheesh!

  4. Too bad you didn't ride with us today (Sunday), Eric-- we had the wind at our backs the whole way home, somebody (I think it was one of the girls) flatted, then wrapped the spent tube around Cesar's head so that only his eyes and nose were exposed, AND I got home in time for breakfast before work!

    See you out there!

  5. well, don't feel like you have to keep his nose uncovered. just let him take a deep breath first.

yes, I'm sorry I missed the ride. it was more of a timing issue than one of desire.

    welcome back yvonne!
